Merry Muster lives up to Festival name

Renowned as Australia’s highest single payout professional rodeo, the 2015 Ernest Henry Mining Curry Merry Muster is also staking its claim as a true Outback Festival with a 3 day, 3 night program brimming with entertainment and activities.

Kick starting on Thursday night next week with the Alliance Airlines Street Parade organisers have confirmed two more exciting additions to the schedule in the form of a guest appearance by renowned poet and balladeer Brenda Joy at the Bush Poets Breakfast and the hosting of the conclusion of the David Morris Reason to Ride event.

A relaxed morning to kick start the weekends action, the Bush Poet’s Breakfast July 31 will see budding poet’s, yarn spinners and joke tellers enjoy a delicious bush style breakfast joined by Brenda as special guest judge, Emcee and performer. A renowned, awarded and published performance poet and balladeer with poems and songs forming parts of individual and group collections throughout Australia, Brenda looks forward to being part of the mornings activities commencing at 7.30am at the Cloncurry Community Precinct.

Leading on from the mornings Bush Poets Breakfast festival goers and the local community are then invited to make their way back to the Community Precinct to welcome the riders of the David Morris Reason to Ride event.

An endurance cycling charity ride commencing in Townsville on July 27th, arrival in the township of Cloncurry around 11.30am will mark the end to the 5 day/800 kilometre ride.

Raising awareness of the research being performed by Sydney based, world expert in cancer surgery, Professor David Morris, co-organiser and David Morris Reason to Ride Committee member Gillian Gilmore said “they chose the North West route to highlight Professor Morris and the many rider’s passions for ensuring all patients, regardless of their geographic location, access the care they require”.

Running through until Sunday with ATRA Roping and Community Markets full details on the 2015 Ernest Henry Mining Curry Merry Muster Festival are available from the website
