Cloncurry’s largest annual event and Australia’s highest single payout professional rodeo the Curry Merry Muster Festival has this week renewed its naming rights sponsorship with Ernest Henry Mining.
An important social, entertainment and sporting event for the region, the annual Curry Merry Muster Festival plays an integral part in diversifying the local economy and positively promoting the township; annually attracting tourists and visitors from far and wide.
Mike Westerman, Chief Operating Officer for Glencore’s North Queensland Copper Assets Australia says Ernest Henry Mining has been a long-time supporter of the event.
“Since 1997 Ernest Henry Mining has been a major sponsor of the Curry Merry Muster Festival, a tradition we’re proud to continue in 2015,” Mike says.
“Each year we see this event grow and prosper and we are pleased to support such an important community event that double’s Cloncurry’s population throughout the four-day festival.”
“This is the 61st year of the Festival and we look forward to working with and supporting the committee to provide an entertaining and successful event for the Cloncurry community and surrounding region.”
Incorporating four days of entertainment the 2015 Ernest Henry Mining Curry Merry Muster Festival commences on the evening of Thursday July 30 with the popular CBD Street Parade, and culminates on Sunday August 2 with team roping events at the Cloncurry Equestrian Centre.
